Yaz (Yasuyo) Uemura, a Japanese artist based in Berlin, finds her creative pulse in the intersection of sound, performance, and acting. With a deep-rooted love for noise and soundscapes stemming from her childhood in Japan, where nature and spirituality played a significant role in shaping her artistic sensibilities, she embraces diverse musical genres and constantly seeks new sonic frontiers. Recent collaborations include soundscaping for Berlin Fashion Week's narrative-rich fashion show and Berlin Art Week's fusion of Shibari and Butoh performance. As a Butoh practitioner herself, Yaz seamlessly marries sound and movement, making her a sought-after collaborator in the performance world. Beyond music, Yaz delves into acting, adding yet another layer to her artistic repertoire. She's already made her mark in commercials and music videos and harbors ambitions for future film projects. In Berlin's ever-evolving creative scene, Yaz continues to explore, expand, and innovate across multiple artistic domains, reminding us that creativity knows no boundaries.
